Scalp Micropigmentation

THE ULTIMATE GUIDE

The only 100% effective solution to hair loss is here and there is so much to learn. The following is a detailed rundown of everything you need to know about Scalp Micropigmentation before getting the procedure done for yourself.

Introduction to Scalp Micropigmentation

What is Scalp Micropigmentation?

As most men approach their 20’s, 30’s, and 40’s, hair loss become a reality to some degree – and that can be caused by many different reasons. Sometimes it can be related to genetics, but also stress and an unhealthy diet can also play a role.

A handful of other options are out there to replace hair that has been lost. Many of them though, like hair transplants, are extremely expensive, are painful, and can have a very long recovery time.

Good news though, there is a quick and affordable solution that is way more convenient. It’s called scalp micropigmentation and it’s finally here in Indiana! It gives an incredible confidence boost and has changed thousands of peoples lives.

Hairlines

Once you have decided to bring your hairline back to life, the next question is what style of hairline are going looking for? Did you know that there is more than one?

Choosing Your Practitioner

So you’re ready to get SMP, but now you need to find the right practitioner. You’ll want to find someone who is trained and certified to perform the procedure and also someone with experience and a great portfolio.

The Greatest SMP Artists in the World

How long has Scalp Micropigmentation been around? Who brought it to the United States? Who are the best artists in the world?

How Do I Get Started?

Indy Scalp Design makes it easy to get started. All you have to do is setup a free consultation with a trained SMP practioner. They will take a look at your current hair loss status and instantly give you a quote for the procedure. Once they have answered all of your questions, you’ll be ready to book your first session.

What Is The Procedure Like?

Usually about 2-3 sessions are needed and we set those at least 10 days apart. That way your scalp has time to heal and recover. The first session lays the groundwork for the procedure, applying a light layer of microimpressions into the scalp, which replicate the look of natural hair stubble.

What Is The Price?

The cost does vary depending on your practitioner and where you’re currently at on the Norwood Scale, which is a way of judging your current hair loss status. Without a doubt, though, scalp micropigmentation is a much more cost-effective solution for hair loss compared to other procedures. Also, since SMP is non-invasive, that means you don’t have to miss work or any other life activities.

Going into session two, more and more impressions will be added until the density and texture of your natural hair is achieved. This results in a very convicing and natural look.

How Long Is The Recovery Time?

The recovery time is almost non-existent! You can go right back to work that same day, although there will be a little bit of redness that will go down in 24 to 48 hours. Your SMP practiioner will also give you some aftercare guidelines, which will walk you through how to take care of your scalp during the next 10 days until the next procedure.

How Long Does It Last?

Similar to a tattoo, scalp micropigmentation is permanent! Although some fading does occur and a touch up procedure is expected around 4-5 years. Something to also keep in mind is sun exposure – as wearing SPF sunblock will extend the life and quality of the impressions.
